Independent artist Cindy-Louise has been making waves in the global music industry with her unique writing style and captivating tunes. The South African-born Singer-Songwriter (now residing in The Netherlands) released her debut album Humanity in 2020 to rave reviews.
Despite only starting her career in 2019, she has already amassed over 300k Spotify Streams and 360k YouTube Plays for her charismatic songs, and enjoyed features in Huisgenoot Magazine, News24 Lifestyle, with radio plays on stations like Jacaranda FM.
Cindy-Louise comments on creating music
“I always thought I couldn’t write my own music, but then I realized I had so much fun creating music and it’s really a great outlet for me. When I hear how many people are touched or inspired by my songs, it makes me so happy because I want to inspire and help people.”
Cindy-Louise loves keeping things fresh, switching up her unique music style, ranging from writing and performing Pop, to focussing on Rock in 2023. She elatedly exclaims that “It’s going to be a wild ride!” She will be playing shows in South Africa end-Feb / beginning-March and release her new single at the end of March.
Cindy-Louise tells us more about her process to create music
“I usually write my music at home, either by my piano, or I make a beat/use samples to get the base of the song. Then I move onto the lyrics and from there I usually chat with some producers who can do additional instrumentation for me, I always love working with other creatives.”
At 16 years old Cindy-Louise began singing and took piano lessons, following a strict classical training program. She majored in Music Philosophy whilst focussing on Classical-and-Jazz voice.
She attended the Mediterranean Opera Festival Program in Italy in 2018 and 2019, studying and performing the roles of Despina (Cosi Fan Tutte) and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro). In 2019 she immigrated to The Netherlands.

1. She is obsessed with Anime.
2. She originally studied Opera and Jazz, but then fell in love with Rock music when she moved to The Netherlands.

4. She doesn’t enjoy being in big crowds or tight spaces. However, she doesn’t feel claustrophobic when she’s at a concert because she knows everyone there is kind and on the same wavelength as her.
5. Her creative process is quite different from other artists. When she makes music, she first starts with the rhythm and then the melody. After that she builds the rest of the track around that. She doesn’t work off a sample beat that’s created by a producer. So, in a sense the producer works around what she gives them, and they work very closely to ensure the idea she has comes to life,
6. She doesn’t get nervous when she performs, because she just loves being on stage and entertaining.
7. She plays a bit of piano and she’s learning the guitar.
8. She’s a very impatient person, but not in a bad way. More like, she can’t concentrate because she also has ADHD.
