Meel Vignetting fronts the South African four-piece Indie Rock Band of the same name. Their music takes listeners on a rocking journey through life’s most challenging and most beautiful adventures, exploring art through self, and defining self through art.
Meel Vignetting has been playing guitar since the age of six, singing since eight, and writing original music since about twelve. She feels music is the only way to truly express herself without question.
As an introvert, getting on stage is one of the scariest things on earth, but she loves the challenge of letting go on stage, and every time outgrows the challenge. Music moves within her like blood through her veins. If her ordinary self was Bruce Wayne, Meel Vignetting would be her Batman.

1. Meel Vignetting is not her real name.
2. Meel has never had any musical training and still has no idea what she is doing half the time.
3. Meel can play and write by ear and have never had professional training.
4. Meel started figuring out how to play the guitar from age of 6.
5. Meel formed her first band when she was 10. It was a Counting Crows tribute band called Counting Pigeons.
6. She wrote her first serious song when I was 13.
7. When she was a kid, she wanted to either be a fashion designer or a musician.
8. The first band Meel fell in love with was The Cranberries.
9. At school, the kids who didn’t know Meel, called her the girl who sings like The Cranberries.
10. Her favourite song is ‘A Life Less Ordinary’ by Ash and her favourite album is Screaming Bloody Murder by Sum 41.
